Although research on interest group influence has had a revival in recent decades, little is known about political parties. This study considers how parties’ goals can affect groups’ ability to these actors. Interest groups are expected be more likely parties that ideologically approximate the as well willing make policy compromises; access have mediates effects. Results from empirical analysis of 5000 party-interest observations Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway and United Kingdom support expectations.
